New Year

Each new year is a chance for a new beginning and that is just how I see this year, 2010. Lots of milestones this year. I turn 60 and I am going from a complete city girl to a country girl. But more than that, I am at the point where I want to find the "more" in my life. After 24 years of work as a social worker with little time for anything beyond raising my kids, having a husband that I hardly ever saw due to being a truck driver and having a little antique business on the side, I find myself the owner of a new home in Dunnellon Florida, which to me, is country. I have never had the chance to live in the country, observe nature, cook to my heart's content, or just...as I like to call it...become the person God had in mind when I was created. Hence the title, grace-full living. '
I have an idea that there is a point of grace that comes from using what I have been given to make a wonderful place where life is as it should be...full of grace, peace, creativity. My life's work has been to help in the most basic of ways, those who need a "step-up". I walk in a hospital room, give the resources and information needed, listen to the deepest and most lost moments a person can experience, then I leave and go on to the next person. Now, I want to discover how to take that same heart and add to it, the grace of a lovely home, good...no great food, a deeper source of strength and peace and bring the ideas and creativity to those around me. Please come along on this journey...should be fun, should be enlightening and it will definitely change your life.
